Product Review: Duo Individual Lash Adhesive

Duo Individual Lash Adhesive Product Review

So I have been in search for a long lasting lash adhesive to use for my clients that want individuals that will last longer than a day. I know that Ardell makes one, but haven’t heard the best things about it, so I refused to try it. So just like many professional makeup artist I am HUGE fan of Duo’s Adhesives (that is the ONLY glue I will use in my kit), so when I found out that they had come out with a individual lash adhesive I was SUPER excited!

I purchased the glue a few weeks ago and finally had the chance to try the individual lash adhesive out on a family member this past weekend. While I was applying the individuals I was very impressed with the glue and how it was applying the lashes. However, at one point I did notice that in some places the glue was drying white, so I immediately remove the lashes in those areas and re-applied. Once I finished I was pleased with the application.

Weeeeelllll….Later on that day I found out that the glue could be seen in some spaces on the top of the lashes and that some lashes had even separated. Not good! I lost my mind! That had never happened when I had applied individual lashes before (glad is was a family member though 😉 ). I was so confused and couldn’t figure out if  it was the glue or not. But considering the fact that this glue is “supposed to keep the lashes intact for at least two weeks (and definitely more than a couple of hours), at that point I became I very dissatisfied with the glue. See in the past I had always used the regular Duo adhesive (which I must add that it has NEVER done my wrong 😉 ), so this was new to me.

Based on this experience, at this point I am not pleased with the individual lash adhesive. I have looked for other reviews to see if anyone else has had problems with the glue, but it seems like not a lot of people know about the product, or they just aren’t using it. Which I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing. So for now I give the product a C. I like the fact that it is clear, but some areas seemed to dry white, not clear, which isn’t good when you are applying black lashes. So I think Duo should definitely make this in black just like their regular glue (hint, hint). As far as it lasting, I could have done something wrong on my end, so I am definitely going to try the glue out again before I decide to just do away with it. But next time I will definitely be trying it on myself and not someone else (family member or not, can’t have this happen again. Lol).

For those of you who are looking for a good adhesive definitely don’t hesitate to use Duo’s other adhesive for applying lashes (in white or black). They are the BEST by far in my eyes (and many other artists might I add). You can find these adhesives at Walgreens and at your local Mac counter and they cost anywhere from $6 to $9. As for the individual lash adhesive  goes, wait until there are more reviews out there to try this one out (or until I try it out again).

Oh and for those of you who like to use hair glue, PLEASE try this out instead! 😉
