Key’s Makeup Tip of the Day

Key’s Makeup Tip of the Day

Makeup application is all in the type of brush you use! So now it’s time for you to look into investing in a makeup brush set, a good one! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I remember when I first started wearing makeup back in 2008, I had one brush and it was the Mac Pencil Brush (the 219). I used this brush for everything. At the time I didn’t know any better. I was only a beginner. Lol. As I got more into makeup I realized that by using different brushes it helps to apply makeup differently and sometime more smoothly.

I was introduced to E.L.F (Eyes Lips Face), which is where I purchased my first complete brush set. Prior to that I purchased one of the MAC holiday travel kits. The ELF Studio brush set is a perfect set for a beginner that may be on a budget. These brushes are very soft and pretty good for the price that you pay. The set includes the following:

  • Eyeshadow “C” Brush- Which can be used to apply eyeshadow to the lid of your eye
  • Complexion Brush- Which can be used to apply powder products like blush or bronzer
  • Small Angled Brush- Which is perfect for applying gel or cream eyeliner
  • Small Smudge Brush- Which can be used to smudge color along you bottom lashline
  • Fan Brush- Which can be used to sweep on blush to give it a more natural look, or to sweep away fallout from eyeshadow
  • Powder Brush- Which can be used to apply liquid foundation
  • Angled Foundation Brush- This brush can be used to apply foundation or concealer
  • Concealer Brush- This can be used to apply concealer, and is also good for applying color to your eyelid
  • Small Precision Brush- I personally don’t use this brush, but you could use it to apply concealer around the eyebrow area
  • Blush Brush- You can use this brush to apply blush of course, but I also use it to apply a light contour on my cheekbones
  • Contouring Brush- I use this brush to apply eyeshadow in my crease.

It can be found on eyelipsface.com and retails at $30. Right now there are running a special until midnight today, where you can get two for the price of one. The individual brushes can also be found at most local Targets.ย  You should check them out!

For my more advanced readers that are looking for some really good brushes, or those that are willing to pay more for a good quality brush you should check out sigmabeauty.com. I LOVE Sigma brushes and you may too!

Of course there are many ways that makeup brushes can use, so you don’t have to use the brushes the same way I do. Play around with them and see what works best for you. There are also other brushes out there that are good! It just all depends on your needs. Hope this helps! ๐Ÿ˜‰
