Product Review: Mac’s Studio Tech Creme Foundation

I have been searching around for a new foundation for a while now. I decided to try a new creme foundation by Mac. I haven’t always heard the best about Mac’s foundations, I have heard that some break you out, so I was a little hesitant to try it. I typically only wear Mac’s Studio Fix Powder Foundation anytime that I do actually wear foundation. But again, I wanted to try something new.

Anytime I try something new, I like to try it on my own face before I try it on a client. So far so good. I love the coverage that the foundation gives me, it’s a light coverage but just enough for my face. It gives me a flawless natural finish. I love it! I have been getting several compliments when I wear it. The only thing that I do not like about this foundation is the smell. When you first apply it there is a “fragrant”smell to it that I do not like at all! I also haven’t figured out if the foundation is causing me to break out. The first time I wore it, I wore it for a weekend, and then that Monday morning when I woke up I had a breakout. I also noticed breakouts on my forehead today when I took the makeup off before bed. So I am going to keep watching out for that. If it’s breaking out my face I may have to stop wearing it, or only wear it for special occasions.

Overall I give Mac an A-. I love the coverage, and the overall look of it, but hate the smell, and the possible cause of breakouts. This product retails around $30 and comes in a small black compact with a mirror and applicator. If you are looking for a new foundation, or a foundation you should try it, but be aware that it could possibly cause breakout and that it has a weird smell! 🙂
